New piece 'Hymn to Nikkal' featured on Clare O'Connell's debut album

I’m very excited to share news that the incredible cellist Clare O’Connell has featured a brand new piece of mine, Hymn to Nikkal, on her debut album: The Isolated Cellist, out today. The album is an enchanting mix of ancient and modern music for cello, exploring themes relating to the coronavirus crisis gathered  and arranged to perform to her street during the lockdown period. My piece is for solo cello + looping station, and is a meditation on an ancient Syrian melody. Broadcaster Elizabeth Alker played the piece on BBC Radio 3’s Unclassified show on April 1st 2021, celebrating the launch of Clare’s beautiful album.
