An open laboratory space located at the intersection of music, art, wellbeing, spirituality, self-expression, physical and mental health.
The 25 minute choral piece is a musical meditation where singers move through the music to the rhythm of their own breath
This was a particularly special commission for me as I grew up very close to St David’s and the piece concerns itself with a very unique part of Pembrokeshire history
The project is particularly close to my heart as it combines my love of nature with my passion for improving and supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing through the arts.
The Le Page Trio will give the world premiere of my new trio, “Look How Brightly The Universe Shines”, on Wednesday 14th July.
My piece is for solo cello + looping station, and is a meditation on an ancient Syrian melody.
The piece lists all of the bird species of New South Wales which are either endangered or on the verge of extinction because of the recent wild fires.
The concert will be live-streamed and features a packed programme including pieces from Anna Meredith, Lili Boulanger, Freya Waley-Cohen and Emily Hall.
The project will run across 2021 and I can’t wait to share the music with you as it’s developed.
The music is inspired by the oldest known melody in the world - the Hurrian Hymn from c.1,400BC
